How to Refer to Vetcision

Surgical Referrals:

1.    Either you or the client can call to set up a referral appointment with a surgeon.  If you don't know which specialist to schedule the appointment with, our surgical coordinators can help you make this decision.

2.    We will ask for client and patient information over the phone to make the client's visit as efficient as possible.

3.    Fill out the referral form and fax or send the form with the client.  Please also include any current radiographs or lab work.  All radiographs will be returned after the surgeon is done treating the patient.

4.    We understand your client's time is valuable and we strive to keep our appointments on time.

Emergency Referrals:

1.    Please call as soon as possible to let us know you are sending a patient.  Give us a brief history so we can be prepared for the emergency.

2.    Fill out the referral form and fax or send the form with the client.

3.    The patient will be triaged as soon as they arrive at The Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center of New England. If the patient is unstable, in may be handled by the Emergency Department.  Otherwise, a Vetcision surgeon will see the patient as soon as possible.  Occasionally there may be a wait while more critical patients are being treated.
