What’s New?

First Aid Classes for Pets
We offer First Aid classes for your clients and the public through out the year at Vetcision. These classes have been very successful in the past when conducted for breed clubs as well as local Search and Rescue organizations. We will be covering basic first aid topics such as initial assessment, muzzling, transport, bandaging, hemostasis, first aid kits, basic CPR, and an overall discussion of common emergency situations with both dogs and cats. Clients can bring their pets, as this will be an interactive session, with refreshments and bandage material provided!
We will be sending you a list of dates soon!

Vetcision Emergency Response Team
The ECCD will be forming an Emergency Response Team along with the Waltham Emergency Response Service to assist the town of Waltham and surrounding communities in sheltering and treating pets in the event of natural disaster or threat that will require evacuation. Using the Humane Society Guidelines and the First Aid classes, we will hope to put together at plan for pet owners to follow as well as have Vetcision be a resource for the community in the event of such as crisis. The Massachusetts Emergency Management Association (MEMA) has met with area veterinarians to start to form a veterinary team for each town in Massachusetts.
